C&R DEVELOPMENT NEWS UPDATE - April 2019
The C&R team continues work around the country in another busy earthworks season.
We have recently completed our contract at the Huntly Expressway. A big thankyou to the C&R Team for their efforts on the job and to Fulton Hogan – HEB for the opportunity to work on the project.
We have recently started work on a significant Land Reclamation project at the Lyttleton Port in Christchurch. Some 3.5million tons of selected material is required to be excavated, carted and placed into the new reclamation area to extend the port by five hectares.
Development works continue in the large Auckland quarries. With the demand for aggregate in Auckland ever-growing, we continue to develop Hunua Quarry and Brookby Quarry using 100-ton class plant groups. This demand for aggregate has extended into the surrounding areas in the Waikato and North Auckland where we have undertaken major stripping projects at Otaika, Smythe’s and Whitehall quarries over the past year.
C&R have established a 180-ton Komatsu PC1800 at Rotowaro Coal Mine. Together with Cat 777 & Komatsu 785-7 dumpers - C&R continue their contract with BT mining removing overburden and developing a major Stream Diversion in the new pit.
C&R’s current civil contracts include: a massive 40,000m2 building platform in Cambridge – part of a major industrial subdivision and a 300-lot residential subdivision in Te Awamutu. Both projects are in their first season of works.
We have also purchased a further D11T Dozer from the USA, taking our total fleet to seven and intend to have it working on the Taharoa Iron sands contract.
