What type of work do you do?

C & R undertakes civil earthworks and bulk earthmoving contracts including major roading and subdivisions, overburden removal, high production mining and quarrying. We also undertake large environmental landfill and water storage developments.

Do you work all over the country?

C & R predominately undertakes projects in the upper North Island. However, in the past we have completed contracts all over New Zealand, Western Australia, and Hong Kong.

What types of materials do you shift?

C & R have the machinery to handle any material from the muckiest of swamps to even the toughest rock.

Are your staff competent in silt and sediment control?

C & R have the experience to control silt and sediment from even the largest earthworks site. We have considerable expertise in silt and sediment control in the Auckland Council, Waikato Regional Council and Environment Bay of Plenty regions.

What is the size of your biggest excavator?

C&R has two of the massive CAT 5130 excavators weighing in at 180 tonnes. They have a bucket capacity of 10m3 that enables them to lift 25 tonnes of material at one time and allows for 4/5 pass loading of 100 tonne capacity dump trucks.

How long have you been involved in this industry?

The Ross brothers and their father Jim before them have been involved in major projects for over sixty years.

Do you do private, residential work?

C & R specialises in large civil contracts and bulk excavations and does dairy conversions and large scale farm works, but does not undertake small jobs such as household driveways.

What safety guidelines do you have in place?

C & R have a comprehensive health and safety programme, designed for quarry, mining, and civil operations. We have a drug and alcohol free workforce policy.

Is C & R a New Zealand owned business?

C & R is 100% owned by the Ross family who all reside in the Waikato region.
