PROJECT REWA - INLAND PORT, RUAKURA

C&R have committed a substantial plant group to initiate the bulk earthworks required for the new industrial development located in Ruakura, Hamilton. We are collaborating with Tainui Group Holdings to develop an inland port is the initial anchoring project to get the industrial development – called project REWA - underway.

HUNUA QUARRY

Overburden removal works is continuing for C&R at the Hunua Quarry located in the Hunua ranges, Auckland. Multiple plant groups have been established on site, partaking in multiple projects as contractors to Winstone Aggregates, including the continuing development of Symonds Hill since 2016.

GREEN GORRILLA, HUNTLY

Previously operating as a Construction and Demolition waste landfill since 2007, the site was bought out by Green Gorilla waste services (GRP) in August 2021.

C&R was contracted to take control of the current waste operations which included constructing new roads and developing a new cell for the next stage of the landfill. This task consisted of removing 340,000BCM of and constructing new engineered fill cell walls and floor from fireclay sourced on site. New drainage systems have also been installed, consisting of 4km of open drains, 1km of under drains and 2 separate road crossings with 1.6m and 1.8m concrete pipes.

The current machine fleet consists of a PC1250 excavator, HM400 ADT haul trucks, dozers ranging from a D8’s to D10’s, as well as a suite of small, GPS enables excavators.

BROOKBY QUARRY

We are continuing overburden removal into engineered fills and assisting in day to day quarry works as contractors to Kaipara at Brookby Quarry in Auckland. Two plant groups have been established, including 120 and 180 tonne excavators loading a fleet of 100 ton Dump Trucks.

POWELLS ROAD, HAMILTON

Powells Road is a 131 home subdivision located in Fareview Downs, Hamilton. C&R's contribution to the project consists of:

the excavation, sorting and removal of a large, contaminated farm rubbish dump.
The excavation of a large organic Paleo channel and the installation of subsoil drainage.
The importation of pit sand to bring the site to the required levels
Placing Geotechnical Grid 900mm below all house sites

GRAYMONT LIMEWORKS

C & R are continuing work at Graymont Quarry, located by Te Kuiti. We have established a single plant group to undertake both overburden and interburden removal as well as engaging in day to day quarry works. We have recently redesigned the batter on site due to the material, including the implementation of a new drainage system, to reduce risk of slips occurring.

3MS -KELLY ROAD SUBDIVISION, CAMBRIDGE

C&R are currently collaborating with 3MS to undertake works on a new subdivision. It comprises of 246 residential sections, a large lot for a retirement village, a commercial centre, future residential development, high density residential development, a school, roads and reserves.
