PAST PROJECTS
WAIHI GOLDMINE - OCEANAGOLD
Between 2017 and 2020, we completed the tailing's dam lifts for Oceana Gold at the Waihi gold mine.
Taking six months to complete in bad weather, just over 100,000 bcm of constructed fill was used, including mixing lime with the material to counter acidity. It’s a complex process but we complied with all consents to finish the job to the client’s satisfaction.
We have since been invited back to the goldmine to continue works on lifting the tailing's dam and will commence work early 2022.
LYTTELTON PORT RECLAMMATION
A joint venture between C & R and Heron Construction worked on Stage 1 of LPC’s port reclamation. The scope of the project included dredging five hectares of sea bed and replacing with 3.5 million tons of selected aggregate material from Gollan’s Bay Quarry (1.5km from the port).
A combination of blasting, excavation, screening, stockpiling, carting and placing material, were handled by the C&R team over the past two years.

ROTOWARO COAL MINE, HUNTLY
C&R committed a substantial plant group to the continued development of Rotowaro Coal Mine.
As a contractor to BT Mining – significant quantities of overburden have been removed with the establishment of our 180 ton Komatsu PC1800 Excavator that joined its class of 100 ton excavators and trucks.
FRONTIER ROAD ESTATE
C & R is completing work on a new 300 lot subdivision in Te Awamutu. The design incorporates both medium and high-density housing, with wetland areas and recreational reserves.
